The Road
On this journey, youth believe
they’ve mastered all the steps,
unaware of
crossroads still to face
and falls yet to take.
Only in time
will they distinguish
a flower from a weed
and start to gather
bits of wisdom
which adorn their path.
For on this journey
from innocence
to experience,
there are no short cuts.
