Splendor’s Flame

Gisela Vigil 1959 (Cuba)

Rhymed
Two souls, their passion lighted,
creating Splendor’s flame.
Hence, fire is ignited
that neither one can tame.

The sense is hypnotizing,
as into fire stare.
Red flames continue rising,
of heat become aware.

There’s danger in close distance
for fire may cause pain.
Yet both with true resistance,
in fire’s reach remain.

Two hearts, reflections showing.
Grows sense of something real.
There’s beauty in the glowing
when Splendor’s flame they feel.

About this poem

That feeling of falling in love.

Thank you for welcoming me to this community. I was born in Cuba but emigrated with my family to the US when I was three. I am mother to three young adults now, and also a grandmother. I’ve been writing for years, some I share, others I still keep in my personal file. I often write of struggles for we all face them as we journey through life.
