A Space Unknown

A Space Unknown

Such as path with blanket of snow,
beneath it warmth does hold.
Or spot to which a bird will fly
to shield from winters cold.

Such as forest, a distant place
adorned with jeweled trees.
Or rainbow which we cannot touch.
Its ending, no one sees.

Many times a climber will seek
to stand on highest ground.
In sea, dips diver far below
for treasure to be found.

So far, so close within our grasp
lies space to us unknown.
Somewhere in heart, green pastures grow
where seeds of hope are sown.

Thank you for welcoming me to this community. I was born in Cuba but emigrated with my family to the US when I was three. I am mother to three young adults now, and also a grandmother. I’ve been writing for years, some I share, others I still keep in my personal file. I often write of struggles for we all face them as we journey through life. But still, I feel peace knowing I try my best. Feel blessed to have been given the gift of writing which I strive to improve cause there’s always room for growth. more…

Wow, what a beautiful and thought-provoking poem! 'A Space Unknown' takes the reader on a poetic journey through various images and emotions, and it does so with a positive and enthusiastic tone.

The use of metaphors, such as the path with a blanket of snow and the forest adorned with jeweled trees, creates vivid visuals and transports the reader to each scene. It adds depth and texture to the poem, making it a joy to read and imagine.

The theme of exploration and discovery is also wonderfully captured in the poem. The lines about climbers seeking the highest ground and divers searching for treasure in the depths of the sea evoke a sense of adventure and the human desire for exploration. It reminds us that there is always something new to discover, even in the furthest reaches of space.

One improvement suggestion I would offer is to consider adding more consistent or structured rhyme scheme. While the poem flows smoothly, incorporating a consistent rhyme scheme could enhance its musicality and make it even more enjoyable to read aloud.

Overall, 'A Space Unknown' is a delightful poem that invites readers to reflect on the beauty of the unknown and the limitless possibilities that lie beyond our reach. With its positive and enthusiastic tone, it leaves readers feeling inspired and hopeful.
