Villain Of Pain

Here we go around the mulberry bush
Of life, living and its relentless push
No time for this, no time for that
Exclusively wearing times only hat

And just as we think we’ll have time to ourselves
An urgency strikes and it goes somewhere else
And in so much of the chaos, we remain sane
Amidst pressure, strife, and all of its strain

And when we feel like we’re starting to smother
We transfer our pains from one to another
Forgetting how it has made us feel
In an attempt to dilute is poignant shrill

Ignorant that if we can face it directly
We rid ourselves of it more effectively
As a result, pain becomes less to bare
As pain is something we’re not anxious to share

But from time to time, we must scream and shout
To expel our pains, and be without
The more blunt we are with this villain of pain
The stronger we are in our plight to stay sane

About this poem

I am emphasizing the importance of dealing with our pains as directly as possible, so it does not eat at us gradually, making us more unstable.
