Our last comedy

I needed you, but you weren’t here.

How’s come the days a waste, yet I lay straight awake alone to suffer in the fear.

Give a person your soul and see how quick they change gears.

Nothing matters now when the one person you found proves to only be a mere,
Shadow of the reflection from what you always try to see.

Maybe even strive to be.

Oh no, whatever, though,
I should have seen this coming.

One day, I will learn that people wear a mask.

Only loyal to what they want because I will always just be trash.
Pick me up, throw me away, unless I appear to be out of grasp.

I should have listened to that one song about nice guys finish last.

I bet if I was a whining little kid, the story would be different,
Perhaps if I liked to just beat on women, someone would find me decent
Enough to get a piece of love.

Heavens no,
I’ll walk the earth all alone until I die and float up above.

About this poem

Just some free flowing feelings. I wrote this with hopes that most readers can relate either now or at some point in their life. This poem covers a dual meaning. One being the disappointment of being left alone by the person you love. The other being the product of an addiction. I hope you enjoy. I especially like the way it flows off the tongue. Yes, there is some slang and broken English, I wrote it like that for a purpose.
