Our last comedy
I needed you, but you weren’t here.
How’s come the days a waste, yet I lay straight awake alone to suffer in the fear.
Give a person your soul and see how quick they change gears.
Nothing matters now when the one person you found proves to only be a mere,
Shadow of the reflection from what you always try to see.
Maybe even strive to be.
Oh no, whatever, though,
I should have seen this coming.
One day, I will learn that people wear a mask.
Only loyal to what they want because I will always just be trash.
Pick me up, throw me away, unless I appear to be out of grasp.
I should have listened to that one song about nice guys finish last.
I bet if I was a whining little kid, the story would be different,
Perhaps if I liked to just beat on women, someone would find me decent
Enough to get a piece of love.
Heavens no,
I’ll walk the earth all alone until I die and float up above.
About this poem
From tragedy comes comedy, sometimes it’s not funny. I wrote this in a manner that I hope the reader can relate. It has a double meaning. 1 being that of love. The other being fighting a addiction. I suppose they go hand in hand.
