In Praise of Authentic Beauty

Adorned with garish ornaments, beauty fades
Crowded out by glittering trinkets
Hanging over mind and body

Early in life I've learned
Beauty hides from cruelty and vengefulness
Unkind vibrations exterminate it
And fear of its being snatched
Extinguishes its essence

Beauty adds up, does not take away
It polishes, does not scratch
Dances wildly free, does not strain

Beauty catches stars, not dirt
Holds gently, not greedily
Beauty breathes in gratefulness
For what gifts come by
Does not curse nature of things
But accepts the flow and tempo
Of the universe

About this poem

I have observed, as I looked back at my experiences in the world of fashion, having posed for magazine covers for several times and having walked on modelling platforms, beauty does not bring much joy when spent just expressing thru display and parading. There so much more in life the name of beauty. This poem was inspired by a feeling of emptiness after meaningless modelling and appearing on magazine covers. There's o much more in life in the name of beauty.
