Analysis of A shadow in the dark

A shadow in the dark

was what I saw

as I looked in the dark sky

I saw my past reflecting shadows reflecting my flaws.

I saw my shadow as it sat to cry

it was but a shadow in the dark

but a sudden hopeful bark

a shriek of help from the dark.

As I stood with my lonely thoughts

my feelings are shot

full of regrets like a criminal that's never been caught

just a lonely soul that'll sit in the dark to rot.
