Analysis of Nothing lasts forever.
A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)
Nothing lasts forever.
You used to cast a spell on any man with your beauty; and the sparkle in your eyes and ruby red lips and hair of silk they were at your command. They would stare and gaze whenever you come near, Now you're old, and like a wilted rose, they run and hide whenever you walk by. Even I once had that spell, but the spell was broken, and I lost my token, and it hurts me when I look at you. I too want to run and hide, even though you were once my bride. It still makes me want to cry and it brings a tear to my eyes. What happened, and how can this be? In the grand scheme of things, it's inevitable. Nothing lasts forever, not even me. But I still love you that's all I need.

This is a sad poem about a beautiful girl but she grew old and nobody wants her anymore, she lost her spell and it does hurt me every time I look at her. I do hate myself.
