Analysis of No Happy Medium
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
Still on fire after all these years
And the flame’s only getting higher
Sometimes its too hot when it’s not too cold
They can’t find a reason to sing
They just want a place in the middle to live
But there really is not such a thing
There is no such thing as a safety pin
Each one has a very sharp point
You will have to wear one seal or another
Depending on whom you anoint
You might find a place in the sand you can hide
But not for a very long while
When all of the faith on the earth is destroyed
And the planets completely defiled
