The Wind
The Wind blows and blows,
unpredictably, it comes and goes,
from where to where, hardly anyone knows.
It blows people into my life.
It blows in joy and delight.
It blows in garbage and strife.
People get blown away,
sometimes suddenly all at once,
sometimes a little, day by day.
The Wind is a friend and a foe,
over which I have no control.
All I know is how much it hurts when people go.
