Spring

Long winter nights have gone their way
I look for flowers every day.
Rain has quenched the thirsty ground
Blossoms soon will be all around--Spring!
The cool, crisp, morning, dewy air
Gently blows through my hair.
Soon the sun shines in the sky
Birds delight my watching eye--Spring!
Butterflies come dancing, too
A chance for me to play with you.
Shall we chase them through the yard
Running's easy, catching's hard--Spring!
Daytime air is warming every week
What lovely pleasures shall we seek?
Swimming's coming at the beach
Waves of Spring have so much to teach--Spring!
Much too early, days of burning hot
Days of Spring will be forgot.
I just don't want that to be
Because these are the times for me--Spring!
