Divine Compassion
And Jesus wept,
compassion welling from within his heart.
He faced the tomb, his love enfolding
the sisters, Lazarus, the crowd.
"Remove the stone"- he spoke commanding-
the mourners, puzzled at his words.
"Lord, Lazarus lies here four days already".
"Remove that stone" his voice surmounting.
He knelt before the stony tomb,
"Father, I thank Thee". His sight perceiving
the whole of man, and Lazarus alive.
With power and eternal understanding,
he cried aloud, "Lazarus, come forth".
The dead heard and came,
obeying the Master's word, the facts of Life.
Still, these words, forever speaking,
pierce through the gloom, the grief, the tomb.
