Future

Destiny and freewill
Can never coexist
This may sound obvious
But now here comes the twist

The masses lumber on
Wondering what's in store
Yet these pointless questions
Confuse them ever more

Whoever taught these children
To bow to the sun and stars
Cheated them of freedom
Shuttered futures behind bars

For a moment imagine a time
Where the cogs and wheels have ceased
No more to grind the minds of men
Instead we are released

A time when free-will reigns
And we all receive a voice
A chance to see our labours
Become a better choice

We won't undo the damage
Instead we'll forge ahead
To benefit each other
And share the world instead

About this poem

A work collaborated on by my wife and I. I can imagine it will be the kind that you either agree with or not. In any case, I'd love to hear your views.

so what if they may think this sappy but this type of idealism is my groove.
I'll have to read your others as my curiosity has been aroused.
