Science of Mine

I have to make a guess
The sun that's in the skies
Is nothing more than light
Reflected from your eyes;
And when you close them
To go to sleep,
The sun itself does seep
Into the horizon to rest there,
Until it's time for you to rise.

I have no way to test
This theory in my head
So I decide to choose
To believe what I said;
And if it turns out
To not be true,
The facts just will not do
As all the warmth keeping me alive,
Is in your arms and heart instead.

About this poem

As I drove, pondering my love's light in her eyes, seeing the sun in the sky at the same time, these words just came to me. And once they came, I could not forget nor let go of the completely incredulous theory of mine. And so I wrote, knowing no one would ever believe these words, as fanciful as they are.
