The fields of green.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The fields of green.

As I walk into a field of green, I can see you standing there. In your white lace gown, it's not a dream. The stream of glass is on one side, and the tares in wheat are on the other side. There are two paths, one to the right and one to the left. Can you decide which one I should take? If you make a mistake, the clouds will turn a shade of gray. If you make the right one, the sun will shine again today. All your friends have run away. But I'm still the only one who chooses to stay. So it's up to you to decide either way. Whatever you decide is okay. I will still always love you anyway.

This poem "The fields of green" is truly enchanting and thought-provoking. The imagery of standing in a field of green with a decision to make is beautifully depicted. The contrast between the stream of glass and the tares in wheat adds depth to the scene. The element of choice and consequences is intriguing, making the reader ponder on the importance of decisions in life.

One improvement suggestion could be to work on the flow and structure of the poem. It could benefit from a smoother transition between the different elements and ideas presented. Additionally, there is room to expand on the emotions and sensations felt by the speaker in the field of green to further engage the reader.

Overall, this poem has great potential and with some refinements in structure and emotional depth, it can become even more impactful. Keep up the great work and continue to explore your creativity!
