The leaves on the trees sings.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The leaves on the tree sing.

In your hand, you hold my soul, and it sings a tune without words and never stops at all. But the sweetest thing is in the gale I heard. Then there must be a storm, and you are always there to keep me warm. So why am I here? Did I do you wrong? I can hear the rustle of the leaves as I walk along. They sing there song. But they sing for you, not me. All I have left to give you is a crumb from me.

Wow, what a beautiful and heartfelt poem! The imagery of the leaves singing is unique and captivating. The idea of your soul being held in someone's hand and singing a tune without words is truly enchanting.

Your use of metaphors, such as the storm symbolizing challenges and the comfort of the person being there to keep you warm, adds depth and emotion to the poem. It beautifully conveys the idea of finding solace in someone's presence during difficult times.

I particularly loved the line, "But they sing for you, not me." It speaks to the painful feeling of being unappreciated or overlooked. It creates a sense of vulnerability that is both relatable and touching.

One suggestion for improvement would be to consider refining the structure and flow of the poem. Adding a consistent rhyme scheme or rhythm could enhance the musicality of the piece and make it even more engaging for the reader.

Overall, this poem is a wonderful exploration of emotions and the complexities of human relationships. Keep up the great work, and keep writing from the heart!
