Old Poetry

Old Poetry

You remind me of an old poem, that I wrote long ago
I really didn't know where it was going, but with time the words began to grow
The words caught light and refracted a melody
And became bent as they grew
Who knew I'd be speaking about you and me
And slowly a tangled web came into view
I picked up all the fragments, and pasted the words upon this page
what a huge development, when the world is your stage
With growth it became beautiful  Inspiring even the weakest of poets
It gradually slopes into the inevitable
Upon this blurry paper is where it sits
You are the muse to my ideology
The hope that grows inside my soul
A link that I thought was broken me
And taken more than it's toll
But through these pages your face comes into view
Something I wasn't really expecting to find
And with enough ink this story grew
And captured my spirit and mind
