The Baptism

Joshua Kinsel 1984 (San Antonio, tx)

My baptism was deep, the ritual long
The word read in the form of a song

The water was warm, as I lay in the tub
As I was dipped, it all turned to blood

A lifetime it seemed, I was held down below, only released once my soul lost its glow

My aura is darkened, the deepest of black
My soul has been taken, I won't get it back

As I emerge, the blood drains from my body, skin stained red, I feel kinda naughty

The rites have been spoken, a member I've become, my coven accepts me, we all are now one

Dripping I walk forth into their arms
They dry me and robe me, and cast me their charms

Enchanted I enter the circle of salt
They open the grimoire for summoning must be taught

The candle is lit, the words on the page is spoken, to bring forth the spirit, the skin must be broken

I pull out my knife, and slice my hand deep
The blood must flow freely for the spell to keep

My chalis will catch it, my blood won't be wasted, as the spirit comes forth, my coven all taste it

The spirit appears and we set it to task
We've bound it by magic to do ask we ask

A secret item we need it to find
An item of power it's one of a kind
