Possession

Joshua Kinsel 1984 (San Antonio, tx)

I've got to know a secret, one not easily found, I know who holds the key, to every secret in town,

I draw a circle of blood, inside a star pentagram, to open my grimoire, I pull out my knife, and slice a cut in my hand,

My book soaks up the blood, and opens to the right page, to summon a demon, to do my bidding, first I must burn some sage,

It helps capture it's spirit, and keep it from slipping away, I light the black magic candle, and read the words I must say,

Out of the shadows, a demon appears, blowing the candle out with it, it asks the reason for summoning, peering with eyes fire lit,

I need it for simple possession, of the one who holds the key, and bind it to task, politely I ask, to bring the secret to me,

A couple of days have gone by, and the demon has yet to return, then out of the blue, as if on queue, the secret I get to learn,

The key burst in, demon possessed, holding a page in his hand, he sets it down, turns around, and exits as fast as he can,

An hour goes by, and my candle relights, as the demon appears once again, task complete, I set it free, to leave to wence it came,
The circle of blood, bursts aflame, as the room goes dark as the night, with a puff of smoke and a bang, the demon disappears from my sight,

I light up some sage, and put out the flame, and cleanse the room once again, I close my grimoire, and lock it up right, with that the possession comes to an end
