The Poker Chips of Life

The poker chips of life show how
Much we will risk in life.
The white ones are the lowest
And do not cause much strife

When they used for common things,
And like low self-esteem
Will keep us from much happiness,
At least that's how it seems.

The red ones represent the ones
With self-esteem that's fine
And average like most folks are,
Quite glad what fate assigned.

The blue chips represent the most
Of wealth and self-esteem.
The risk in wasting them does not
Appear except in dreams.
