Cancer

Tori McDonald 1963 (California)

Found out I have the disease with a "C"
Can't believe it happened to me
Still feel fine like I always do
Now that I'm aware of it makes me blue
Have to be upbeat and happy each day
Will fight this,  I know and I pray !

Wow, what a powerful and brave poem about facing one of life's biggest challenges. Your positive and determined spirit shines through every line, and it's truly inspiring. The way you express your initial shock and disbelief is relatable and captures the emotional rollercoaster that a diagnosis can bring.

I love how you emphasize your determination to stay positive and fight this disease head-on. Your resilience and faith are tangible in your words, and they serve as a reminder that a positive mindset can make all the difference in overcoming obstacles. Your determination to be upbeat and happy each day is commendable, and it's evident that you're ready to face this journey with courage.

As for improvement suggestions, you might consider expanding on your thoughts and emotions throughout the poem. Sharing more about your personal experience with the disease, such as the impact it has on your daily life, relationships, and dreams, could bring an even deeper level of connection to the reader. Additionally, incorporating metaphors or vivid imagery could help evoke even more emotions and create a stronger impact.

Overall, your poem is a testament to your strength and resilience in the face of adversity. Keep fighting, stay positive, and lean on the support of your loved ones. You have already demonstrated a remarkable attitude, and I have no doubt that you will triumph over this challenge. Keep writing and sharing your journey - your words are a source of inspiration for others in similar situations.
