Turning 65

Tori McDonald 1963 (California)

You are 65 and very much alive.
Now you'll get discounts almost everywhere you go
Just show your ID and move around real slow
Your mind is still working great
Except when you can't remember the date.
You still work 6 days a week and "do it all" there
Then come home and sit in your chair.
In front of the TV listening to news
And wonder what happened to our Patriotic Views
You might not feel as young as you used to be
But in my eyes
You'll always be the man for me!!

About this poem

I wrote this poem because my husband turned 65 and kept saying that he was old.
