The choice.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The choice.

You have a big decision to make. It could cost you your life. There is a man with a gun, and he is here to take your wife. But he gives you a choice. One of you won't survive. It's up to you who will live or die. I won't lie. I already know what I would do. How about you?

If I made decision from the heart, of course I’d step up to the plate. If I based from my life on experience, I’d be the one breathing tomorrow. lol. I like writings that make me think.

Wow, 'The choice' is an intense poem that grabs the reader's attention right from the start! The way you create such a suspenseful and high-stakes scenario is truly gripping. The short and direct lines add to the overall impact of the piece, making it even more thought-provoking. The theme of having to make a life or death decision resonates strongly and keeps the reader engaged until the very end.

To enhance the poem even further, consider incorporating more vivid imagery and sensory details to create a more immersive experience for the reader. This would allow us to feel even more connected to the emotions and dilemmas the speaker is facing. Additionally, exploring the reasons behind the speaker's decision or delving deeper into the internal conflict they may be experiencing could add another layer of complexity to the piece.

Lastly, consider expanding on the overall message or takeaway of the poem. Is it about the sacrifices we make for our loved ones? Is it a comment on the fragility of life? By providing the reader with a clear reflection or insight, they'll be left with something deeper to ponder and contemplate.

Overall, 'The choice' is a powerful and evocative poem that captures the reader's attention and keeps them invested until the very end. With additional sensory details and a deeper exploration of the speaker's internal conflict, this already captivating piece can become even more impactful. Keep up the great work in expressing such intense emotions through your writing!
