Carefree

I saw some kids at the park today.

They were so happy and carefree.

I wish that could be me.

Stressed and depressed,

nowhere to go to call "home".

The people I thought would always be there for me

turned their backs on me.

My family, they ain't shit.

Honestly, I want to put a "hit"

on them.

Life would be better that way

for me and the world.

About this poem

I wrote this poem when I was homeless due to my adoptive family kicking me out of their house. I felt so helpless and hopeless at the time, but I never gave up.
