Glued

Sarah Brower 1995 (New Jersey)

Oh!
what magnificent strokes of yellow
subtle pinks and orange lowlights
dipping down behind lustrous greenery

Wasn’t that amazing?!

Majesty of the birds living so free
how they can fly in multitudes
never stopping once!

Wait I almost forgot
nothing exists
in your thousand dollar universe
what is a sunset,
compared to shiny metal
how silly of me ignoring such importance

From now on
I shall leave your neck
to its paralyzed state
forgive me for bothering your scrolling
mindless scrolling

God forbid I live in reality

I love to express myself through poetry. I can’t force inspiration so I only write when I feel moved. Authenticity is important to me!! If I can make anyone feel heard and understood, Then my goal is accomplished. more…
