On the Way to Heaven

On the way to Heaven,
make sure that you live well.
Be thoughtful in your actions.
Choose wise the words you tell.

Amongst us, there are angels
recording joys and pain.
They whisper in the breezes,
catch teardrops in the rain.

Theses messengers from Heaven
watch actions that we choose.
Invisible observers
of how we win and lose.

As we proceed in journey,
must come to understand
that all our golden treasures
will stay upon this land.

If some should block our passage,
push not out of the way.
Recall that there are angels
transcribing what we say.

So on the way to Heaven,
don’t take more than you give.
Let go the chains of envy.
Make best the acts you live.

When reaching gate of entry,
the end of earthly ride,
you’ll be a star that glitters
with angels by your side.

Gisela Vigil

Thank you for welcoming me to this community. I was born in Cuba but emigrated with my family to the US when I was three. I am mother to three young adults now, and also a grandmother. I’ve been writing for years, some I share, others I still keep in my personal file. I often write of struggles for we all face them as we journey through life. But still, I feel peace knowing I try my best. Feel blessed to have been given the gift of writing which I strive to improve cause there’s always room for growth. more…
