Seasonal Scent

Spring brings dazzling births
Longing for nice Summer rays
Days of Autumn spice

About this poem

Life is a series of changes and challenges. Just like the seasons come and go, so does different feelings and emotions. Seasonal Affective Disorder affects many people during Daylight Savings Time. Adjusting to the transition of light and darkness can be draining. How we deal with the changes will define our moods. No matter what obstacles we may face in life, we must always take a moment to breathe deeply and smell the air. Yes, each season has its own scent. You just have to be willing to sniff out the positive vibes and seek out the potential possibilities of each day.

I always love a good Haiku during the contests. I liked the unorthodox word choices and how you created pairings between the mundane and abstract. It adds to both the mystery of natural phenomena like "the seasons" while adding to your personification and the reader's connection to them. "Dazzling," "spice," "births." Paired with nice, longing, and days. All coupled with an internal daisy-chained rhyme scheme. Truly hard to do within the confines of a Haiku format. Impressive indeed, I recognize the amount of thought and effort that went into writing this.

Well done. I enjoyed reading it! Keep writing.
