Come and Enjoy Life

Hey, Everyone that thirst
Come to the water
He that has no money
Come, buy and eat
Come buy wine and fresh milk
Without money, with no price

You labour for what isn't bread
You spend so much for less
Why do you struggle day and night
For what doesn't have eternal value

Think of manna that fell from the sky
From whence does it come from
Think of birds of the air
That neither till nor sow
Yet, feed daily and are satisfied

Come out of  hardship and lack
Come into Abrahamic covenant
And I will lead you to the green pasture
I will bring water out of the rock
The rock I speak of, is Christ

This is the age long mystery
that has been hid from generations
Now revealed to the initiated
The incalculable riches of Christ
If Christ be in you
Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water

Now come to the communion table
And partake of the Lord's Supper
 Eat unleavened bread
and drink a cup of pure wine
Delight yourself in what gives life

Benson Chukwueke

Owerri, Nigeria since 1971. This is how I process and express my innermost cogitations; sitting back with pen and paper, painting words and polishing them until they become flowered verses. I guess for these actions, I could be called a poet or what do think? more…
