The Universe Is Calling Out To Me But I Choose Not To Hear It

The universe is calling out to me
But I choose not to hear it
Because in long long time
And longing time
I fear that I will fear it
And when the sun goes down
And the moon comes up
My smile shall fade away
Because it's only in my darkest hours
I long for longing day
As the days go by
I lay awake
Laying in my lies
And all the sounds
All around
Are blinding to my eyes
And when I feel no more
This life will feel
Like music to my soul
But beneath the oar
And copper
And steel
My heart will feel a pull
Never once a rest
Never once a break
For this I can't mistake
What I chose not to feel
But I know is real
Is the shimmering golden lake
This lake of dreams
Of sorrow
Of pain
Of love
And feelings
Engulfed in flames
To no surrender
I sell my soul
So I may continue to play this role
But when all words are said
And all thoughts are free
It’s only the Universe
Calling to me
