Winter Time

Winter Time
By William Upton

My time in old age is soon to be done
My time in old age has been fun
The days that I was young I will share to you
The days that I was brought upon until 62

Winter time, winter time oh what a sight
snow and a cold breeze struck the night
as I strolled through the neighborhood
I felt calm, happy and I felt good

The days of winter were oh so cold
but i was young and very bold
Before i got up i dreamed of snow
And thought of the fun stuff i could show

Snowmen and Sleighs throughout the day
No school or books “Hooray!” is what I say
The snow, the snow I enjoyed all the time
But when it's 9 at night you will hear a chime

In my teenage years I would not shed a tear
but when winter came I would sing joy not fear
break the bond of sadness and hate
What a pool I would create
as I would sit and wait
I would be happy and never hate

When i got older happiness turned to stress
And stress lead my soul to a mess
But when winter came I would be out all day
Sing to myself till the bell rang

That is why I say don’t lose your mind
Always be kind and enjoy Winter time
Winter time, winter time oh what a sight
Winter time, winter time cold and lovely night
