Nocturnal Reflections

The night is the salt to my wounds
It calmness and quiet,
Dampens the colour of my mood
I crave revival - I crave solitude
I crave peace from the highest altitude
I crave geniality but then,
There is sadness too
For the night is selfish and deadly
The dreaming - our saviour.

About this poem

This poem explores the duality of the night, depicting it as both calming and unsettling. It highlights the speaker's desire for solitude, peace, and a sense of revival that the night can offer. However, it also acknowledges the potential for sadness and the selfishness of the night, while emphasizing the importance of dreams as a source of solace and hope during these nocturnal hours.
