With a dying heart

Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)

You left me
alone

And in my final hours
of desperation

I call out to you
in a silent prayer

Calling to the Creator
To give one last sign

As i give up on me

Send a prayer to you
Of my love

Which is not a fluke

As my last cries
fading to cosmic echoes

Leaves the flesh
of my tormented heart

After all my failure
was only human

My soul speaking naturally
to you

Even as my spirit is being wrenched
From my broken flesh

Sending a message in a bottle
No this was not a test

What i told you was all true
I needed you Too

much not have you
I failed As you did not hear my call

And so as i fell to my death
down the spirit well

Phase-shifted
to Essence-heaven

Or fallen into the echoes
of spirit=Hell

Waiting for
the recognition signal

In answer
from you

but somehow
cannot get through

Holding on
with my last heartbeat

hear
this Cry of love

as i enter the vortex
of an alternate-reality

enter a time bender
meet my ancestors

sign the logbook
into the ethereal realm

Crossing the bridge
into never more

Wishing all the happiness to you
I could not bring
