My Cat

Let me in, let me in
It's cold out here, it's warm within
Let me in, let me play
I'll hunt all night and sleep all day
Let me in and fill my dish
With dried up biscuits and tins of fish
Stroke my chin and hear me purr
I'll wash my face and clean my fur
Let me sleep upon your lap
Just fifty winks, a nod, a nap
Now let me out, oh can't you see
Out there is where I want to be.

About this poem

This poem is from my cats POV when she was a young kitten. She's gone now but when I read this it lifts my heart. She was 21 years old when she left us. She's a family member truely missed.
