Ode to My Lil Sis

To my sister, a beacon of streng’h so bright,
Through life's tempests, you've shown you’r might.
Resilient spirit, like a sturdy tree,
In the forest of challenges, you're wild and free.
Resilient and unwavering, you stand tall,
In the face of challenges, you give your all.

With courage and grace, you've paved your way,
Through each twist and turn, come what may.
In the face of storms, you boldly rise,
With a heart full of hope, beneath the skies.
With grace and fort’tude, you've mother’d well,
In the hearts of your chil’ren, your stories dwell.
Through joys and struggles, you've held the line,
With a great attitude, like a radiant sign.

You've raised them with love, a guiding hand,
Taught your errant son to walk, love, to understand.
And your lov’ly daught a bride so beauteous.
Your kindne’s, a treasure they've come to know,
In the seeds of compassion, they, too, will grow.
A nurturing spirit beneath the skies.
With love and strength, you've paved the way,
For your children to thrive, in the light of day.

You’r at’ude shines like the morni’g sun,
‘xploring new horizons, having so much fun.
A helping hand, yo’r kindne’s unfurl’d,
You're a gift to the world, a priceless pearl.

So here's to you, dear lil sister of mine,
A spirit radiant, like stars that shine.
In this good space where you brightly glow,
May life's adventures continue to flow.

Words and writing have always interested me, but the transition now is from scientific writing (which is based on logic and the rational) to a more emotive, lyrical form. At present this remains an experiment to see if I can strike the right tone, elicit a desired effect, etc. Full disclosure: I have been utilizing chatGPT as an "assistant"; I provide the prompts, edit extensively, yet the structure is provided by my assistant. I take full responsibility for the end result. Not that dissimilar to work on a scientific project in the lab, etc. more…
