Our Comfy Corners

In comf’table corners, we tend to dwell,
Only with those who echo our stories, we jell.
Work and play, our circle’s the same,
A familiar tin’y echo, a comfortable bubbl’y game.

But outside our realm, stories await,
Lives divergent, experiences innate.
Varied experiences lies the chance to learn,
To grow and expand, even if disagreeable, our minds discern.

To mingle with those who hold varied views,
Is to glimpse vision from diverse crews.
In marriage, friendships, religion, politics connections anew,
As we broaden our horizo’s, our insights accrue.

Chaos of life, wov’n by all,
A rich mosaic, diverse and tall.
Through encounters uncommon, we thrive,
New views and lessons arrive.

So step beyond the bubbl’y circle's embrace,
Nuzzle the unfamiliar, seek different space.
For in learning from others, we truly see,
The growth that's born from diversity.

Mani S. Kavuru

Words and writing have always interested me, but the transition now is from scientific writing (which is based on logic and the rational) to a more emotive, lyrical form. At present this remains an experiment to see if I can strike the right tone, elicit a desired effect, etc. Full disclosure: I have been utilizing chatGPT as an "assistant"; I provide the prompts, edit extensively, yet the structure is provided by my assistant. I take full responsibility for the end result. Not that dissimilar to work on a scientific project in the lab, etc. more…
