Cloaked

Tracey Lee 1973 (London)

A golden sun rises as another day begins
Dark grey feelings piercing tooth-shaped pins
Deep inside happiness and deflating the shield
On goes the armour to face a battlefield
Stay well protected while keeping ahead
Don't dare delay and appear quite misled
Keep holding on,don't let the mask slide
Show-face goes on and emotions can hide
Sheer skill and experience from years gone by
Bearing the mask to conceal your cry
Smile, keep the chin up while pain runs deep
Another few hours you can go get some sleep
Are you losing yourself or losing your mind
The years go too fast,it's so unkind
Stay on top, maintain shining bright
The day is your stage, your lover's the night.
