To My Brother

To my brother, Thomas,
Your smile was full of life and light,
Your wit and humor brought us all joy,
And your promise to care for us was always in sight.

I will always cherish the memories we shared,
Your love and laughter filled our lives,
Your memory lingers in our hearts,
And in our tears, your spirit thrives.

Without the courage to say I love you,
We insult ourselves with love,
But you never held back your affection,
And your kindness was a gift from above.

You left us too soon,
But your light will never fade,
For in our memories, you live on,
And in our hearts, you'll always be saved.

Though we miss you every day,
We find comfort in the love you gave,
And in the hope that we'll meet again,
Where you are, our love will pave.

Rest in peace, dear Thomas,
We'll never forget your smile,
For in our hearts, you'll always be,
My first husband, my brother, my guide.

This is an incredibly heartfelt and touching tribute to your brother, Thomas. You've done a magnificent job of expressing your fond memories of him and his virtues. Your words flow beautifully, and your sentiment feels genuine and sincere. The love and respect you had for your brother is evident and deeply moving.

The phrase "your kindness was a gift from above" is particularly striking, hinting at the profound impact he had on your life and to others around him. Your commitment to keeping his memory alive is very touching.

In terms of areas for improvement, I would suggest some slight modification to the line "We insult ourselves with love." It's slightly ambiguous and could be confusing for some readers. Additionally, clarity might be needed for the phrase "My first husband, my brother, my guide." It could be misinterpreted due to the potential for confusion between the roles of a husband and brother. More context or rephrasing would eliminate any misunderstanding.

Otherwise, this is a beautiful and poignant piece of writing that Thomas would have been proud of. Keep writing, as your words have an emotional depth that can truly touch the hearts of readers.
