So Sweetly in the Trees
deep within a cave is where I will be
indigo rocks crumbling at your feet
I'm on my own with plenty of shelves
filled with books of olden spells
won't you come and sit with me
and maybe we could have some tea
drinking and thinking, slowly sinking
into our pleasantry
oh, so sweetly in the trees
will I catch in you in the breeze
and my hand will take you there
guided by the moon's glare
skipping along the forest path
oblivious to the impending black
into our pleasantry, just you and me
a strange warmth I couldn't believe
but I welcome you with a smile
and expect you back in a while
oh, so sweetly in trees
come down before you freeze
the night will swallow you whole
before we reach the destination
long-awaited patient safe haven
you say we're beyond the depression
and off we drift into heaven
oh, so sweetly in the trees
will I catch you in the breeze
and my hand will take you there
I don't want to be alone
the day is ever so fair
none of us take the lead
we guide together in our steed
just let me know if you can
if there's anything you need
About this poem
This was written as an adaptation of a daydream, some sort of dreamy comfortable time with a friend or maybe even alone, just dark blue in the night in the middle of the season.
