Lost At Sea

Of all the things I've lost
I miss my peace of mind
And ambition the most.

There was a time when
My thoughts were like serene waters,
Flowing effortlessly
Within the boundaries
Of my own existence.

But somewhere along the tides
Of life's vast ocean,
I surrendered my tranquility.

Now I am adrift,
Tossed by turbulent waves
Of uncertainty and doubt.

Peace of mind,
My compass,
Has abandoned me,
Leaving me
In this storm-ridden sea.

And ambition,
My guiding star,
Has faded into obscurity,
Where once it burned
With fierce determination.

I really wish to feel
the calmness again,
to bathe in the quiet pools
of self-assurance.

But like a broken sail,
My mind is torn and weary,
Unable to catch
The winds of inspiration.

I really yearn for the lighthouse
To guide me back to solidity,

To have purpose once more,
To taste the sweet nectar of ambition.

Of all the things I've lost,
I miss my peace of mind
And ambition the most.
