Our Lives

As the sun's rays shine upon my face
I think back
At all the days that have gone by
Is it days, months or years?
I stop and think but
No it's been decades
How the time has flown by
Our lives our children our family
We all have grown old and wiser
There's wrinkles upon our faces
And grey hairs upon our heads
What will tomorrow bring?
None of us know that answer
But as we stand together side by side
We will weather the storm of uncertainty
And know that whatever happens next
We shall face it with heads held hi
And with honor, dignity, and love
