Writer

Paper blank and pen poised
Ready to write, but no thought?
No emotion lies behind any image, pictured inside my head
Moments pass.....
Images run back and force
Not one word to show for my thoughts
Lost inside a world of silence, where only mime can be seen
A loss of touch, perhaps?
Bricks appear from everywhere, sliding across my path
Over lapping to form a wall
I could bang my head against it...
Instead, I give in, rest my pen aside
I guess there's always
Tomorrow?

About this poem

I actually wrote this when I was lot younger - in 2004. I came across it in a dusty file. It's still valid to this day. We all get writers block from time to time.
