Gracious Glasgow Matron, Mary.

She was in the Mall
Food Court.
Two daughters
Wheelchair bound.
Living In Cambridge ON.
These past several years.

Wearing a smart beige suit
Well groomed but
Well out of date in cut.
Hair dyed a subtle
Gray blonde.
Every bit in place.
I guessed in her young 90’s.

My wife conversed to the
Purpose of a positive prayer.
The daughters merely tolerated it.
But Mom seemed warmed by it.

Hilary told them that I
Imitated a presentable
Glasgow accent and song.

Before long, Mary visited our table
Taking in a smiling rendition of
I Belong to Glasgow
Dear old Glasgow Town.
Mary joined in the singing.
Cheeks shining with tears of joy.

As if Home.
Heather covered Home
For moments.
