Mighty Kraken

“We are all in the same boat”, they say
But this shows to not be true
You could face a mighty kraken
Or sail smoothly along the blue
But within all the boats, it only matters who
Because when you face your mighty kraken
Your life depends on you

Now this mighty kraken may bruise
And leave scars in your head
And you’ll find yourself thinking
“Would I be better off dead?”
But as a sailor, you must go on
With those mighty kraken scars
Even if your head says that you should be gone

Without those words, the mighty kraken stays
Leaving you gloomed
As you wish it would go away
It hides under the blue
Watching with its evil
Waiting for you to realize that the real monster
Is you

About this poem

This 3 stanza poem represents what others say, or “Might Kraken”, which can cause a person to bring those words onto themselves because of what those around them have said. This causes mental health problems to that victim, hating themselves more than what other people had meant. This ‘morphs’ them into the true monster with the given name of “Mighty Kraken”.
