YOUR POINTED HEAD
Renee Ray 1965 (Tennessee)
Your Pointed Head
That’s what he said
The Angel spoke to me
One day you’ll see
And come to dread
That woeful prophecy
The pyramid did speak as well
The temple spoke right back
Between them was such blasphemy
Coming from that pointed head
Lookout, he spoke, Lookout!
Or you, too, will end up dead!
The angel spoke of thee, not me
The sister who saw red
From whence she came
And where she went
Was through the pyramid
Her entrance and her exit too
Were hidden from our sight
Now, Lock the door,
I heard one speak
Sit back, enjoy the ride!
I knew her not
Nor did she me
The Angel knew the truth
My pointed head could not control
That witch from my own youth
She was an evil opposite
Of my own faithfulness
A destroyer come to hinder me
Yet, always, I did protest
With heart-felt tears to God I sobbed
and sang through lantern lights
A sour note rang out in chords
That clamored darkest night
So many victims there had been
Between the cross-fire, caught
So many lost that could have helped
A victory to be wrought
My temple ached to be released
From this dreadful beast
Who seemed to hold me in his lair
To make of me, his feast!
A friend to me he had become
A guide to light my way
Lest I wander off the beaten path
And end with hell to pay!

About this poem
The Title explains that humanity is very Opinionated and should use caution in speaking to Angelic beings who are often here merely as messengers sent by God.
