Shattered

Shattered
By Nancy Rodriquez

I have been shattered  with a broken heart,
and rejected by the one I thought to be true,
Everything I held near has fallen apart,
and the tears I have cried have been over you,
You ran away as far as you could go,
and I do not get to have a say in what we do,
you have chosen to keep me out of the know,
None of our greatest dreams will come true,
I am shattered you would trounce on our love,
this being not like you,
though I am not without blame, I still want us,
There is not anything left to prove,
I wear the battle scars on the inside,
while you have chosen to hide,
and leave me in shattered pieces.
