The Lord and I

I did not want to leave my family
I thought it was not my time.
But the angels came for me anyway
Because the choice to go was not mine.

As I gazed upon the Lord,
I felt a moment of fear.
What would happen to my loved ones,
And those I held so dear?

The Lord calmed all my worries and fears
With the peaceful words that He said.
"I will watch over your family and friends
Until the time that you can be reunited."

Then the Lord said it was time to come home
And then He opened up His arms.
I have never felt such joyous love,
And been so safe from harm.

So now I am at peace in Heaven,
And I wish my family only joy, no tears.
Because by the grace and love of the Lord,
We'll be together again in a few years.
