High School
Run away
Run away
That’s what I tell myself
To keep it all away
All we care about is material wealth
All my insecurities on display
Trying to pretend it’s cool
But is really not okay
All I can think about is school
Will I make it one day?
Run away
run away
Tell myself I’m fine
Then cry all night long
Where is the line?
But I have to be strong
and If I break
Im not prepared
All the nights I lie awake
I don’t want to be scared
I want to live my life
I want to see the world
Will I ever be a wife?
All the stress unfurled?
Run away
Run away
Why can’t I breathe
What is wrong with me
I’m stuck underneath
The weight of being free
High school what have you done
Putting so much pressure on being perfect
But why can’t I be perfectly imperfect?
It’s not going to matter in 6 years
Whether I got straight a’s or had a b
After all my worries and fears
I want to look back smiling and say see?
Don’t runaway
Stand your ground
Make yourself proud.
It’s hard to keep going
When all they do is yell
Trying my best but it’s not showing
Can they even tell?
My life is pointless
If I can’t get a degree
Don’t disappoint us
Soon you’ll be free
Running
Running
Freedoms a lie
Writings all I love
I’m to broken to cry
I’m as fragile as a dove
Is this what you wanted?
Are you happy?
My life uncharted
Cuz I’m not happy
I say it doesn’t matter
Because I’m not good at it
Not because I don’t care
All these books used like a tool
Who cares what x equals?
When I can’t seem to find what I equal
I think that’s what’s wrong
with High school
