Just When

Nancy Rodriquez 1965 (Temple)

Just when I thought we could never be,
you call me out of the blue,
It seems you are quite a mystery,
and I feel I have lost respect for you,
Just when I thought it was safe to be emotionally better,
here you are in the center of things again,
and I have more questions about your endeavors,
before I risk my heart being in pain,
Much has changed in the way we trust,
and you are still putting me on the blame,
it is as if you are caught up in a web of lust,
and I am fragile, it is not a game,
Just when I began to believe in myself and got stronger,
you are pulling at my heartstrings,
When I felt I could last longer,
there is this familiar stirring, perhaps a test,
to gage how I will react,
I will do my best,
to last.
