Could I Ever Be Enough

Could I ever be enough?
To win your heart again?
Could you end the hateful words and stuff,
that is driving me insane?
We can not move forward,
nor can we go back,
which leaves the here and now,
Is it the trust in which we lack?
it takes a little faith, somehow,
maybe some give and take?
throw in some forgiveness too,
and admit wrongs, which were mistakes?
If I could take your hand in mine, to prove,
Love is a choice and not an emotion,
Would you be able to overlook too?
and settle for my complete devotion?
My heart is this empty shell, my betrothed,
needing to be filled with good things.
I am broken, and ashamed, feeling off,
without a promise of a future ring,
If you could give a little,
a sign of blind trust,
if you could meet me in the middle,
I could forgive your times of lust,
This limbo is hard to make sense of,
and this mess was not the complete blame on me,
it takes two in being together,
to break or make our dreams.
